Chi Junyan slowly recalled what he had learned at school about quickly altering oversized clothes. His hands gradually became more practiced. By the time he put on the trousers, no one who did not examine them carefully would realize that they were the wrong size; they merely looked like a loose-fitting style.

Once he had made himself presentable, he left the bedroom. A middle-aged woman came forward to greet him. “You’re awake?”

She seemed to have been waiting for a long time. Her voice was gentle and harmless, though filled with surprise and uncertainty.

The auntie quickly composed herself and invited him to have some congee.

“Sir specifically instructed me to make it. He also told me to wait until you awakened and ask what you needed.”

Sir? She must mean President Shao.

Slightly embarrassed, Chi Junyan lowered his head and answered softly, “Thank you.” He sat down as instructed and began eating.

He had just bathed, and his hair was only half dry. Soft black strands fell over his forehead, making him look much younger than he was.

His skin was fair and fine, glowing beautifully after the morning’s intimacy.

The oversized clothes made his figure appear even longer and slimmer. His conduct was graceful, and he looked exceptionally obedient and handsome.

The auntie liked him almost immediately.

She no longer cared why a young man had emerged from her employer’s bedroom. As long as Sir could allow someone close to him, it did not matter whether that person was male or female, human or ghost. It was wonderful news.

Suppressing the powerful urge to report to the old master at the family residence, the auntie carefully asked Chi Junyan several questions and soon changed how she addressed him.

“Little Chi, may Auntie call you that from now on? Do you have any other relatives at home?”

Chi Junyan did not follow the rule against talking during meals. In fact, he would have felt uneasy eating alone while the auntie merely watched. Their intermittent conversation relaxed him.

But this question… His hand paused, and his eyelids lowered. An inexplicable trace of grievance emerged. “There’s no one left in my family.”

The auntie thought, Poor child.

After finishing his first meal since crossing into this world, Chi Junyan felt comforted in both body and mind. His attitude toward the auntie, who had continually shown concern for him, relaxed considerably.

Although she seemed talkative, she was actually cautious. She had learned a great deal about him without revealing the slightest information about President Shao.

But Chi Junyan had eyes and a brain. He could observe and make deductions.

President Shao had to be an important figure.

His surroundings alone proved that.

No ordinary person could afford such a large and beautiful home or employ an auntie like this.

After leaving the hospital last night, Chi Junyan had relied on instinct to find this place. Even then, it had taken enormous effort to penetrate the layers of security and locate President Shao’s residence.

The man appeared either rich or powerful, and most likely both. Could he possibly help Chi Junyan return home?

Having made up his mind, Chi Junyan became even more cooperative with the auntie’s questions.

Apart from matters he genuinely could not disclose, he told her everything he could.
