He hung up and switched off the phone.

After a night’s sleep, Shao Siyan felt that his emotions had stabilized somewhat.

He hesitated, but still took his medication before going out. The instant he opened the door, something heavy toppled in from outside and landed directly at his feet.

“…Fuck.”

Who had left a…person outside his home?

Once he saw clearly, his pupils contracted.

…

The back of Chi Junyan’s neck struck a hard, protruding object. A sharp corner jabbed painfully into his gland and woke him at once.

His eyes flew open. After struggling to focus for a long while, he realized that he seemed to be lying flat on the floor, while President Shao stared down at him impatiently.

The man’s condescending gaze carried the indifference and impatience of someone long accustomed to authority.

Yet Chi Junyan shuddered.

Although this man was not a sentinel Alpha, he gave Chi Junyan the same sensation.

The object under the back of his head moved. Chi Junyan gave a muffled grunt and rolled aside.

Only then did he realize that he had been lying on the other man’s handmade leather shoe. Shao Siyan had merely moved his toes.

The perfectly worked leather gave off a faint scent. Mixed with the vast, ocean-like fragrance on Shao Siyan’s body and warmed by the body heat of a mature man standing so close, it was plainly not pheromones, yet it perfectly aroused the desire Chi Junyan had never managed to suppress.

Shao Siyan pressed his lips tightly together.

How had this man found his home? The ends of his hair were damp and apparently covered in dew. He must have been waiting outside for some time.

Shao Siyan raised a foot, intending to kick him away from the doorway, close the door, and call security to remove him.

A storm seemed to gather in Shao Siyan’s eyes. He barked in a low voice, “Let go!”

Chi Junyan had already struggled halfway upright. Half sprawled and half kneeling, he hung his entire upper body from Shao Siyan’s long leg. His tight grip wrinkled the bespoke suit fabric. As though using every ounce of his strength, he dug all ten fingers in so fiercely that they seemed ready to bore holes into Shao Siyan’s thigh.

Shao Siyan tried several times to shake him off but failed. Instead, the repeated movements dragged Chi Junyan farther inside.

With no one holding it, the electronic door soon closed by itself. A beep announced that it had locked automatically.

The distinctive chill of a late-autumn morning still lingered inside the apartment, yet an inexplicable heat began to rise.

Shao Siyan took two heavy breaths and suppressed the emotions on the verge of exploding. “I told you to let go!”

Chi Junyan clung to his thigh with both arms and legs. His mental tendrils had gone completely out of control. Unable even to find the other man’s mental domain, they simply wound endlessly around his body.

With his reason gone, Chi Junyan rubbed his face against Shao Siyan’s crotch. The fine skin of his cheek reddened from the friction of the suit fabric, and his eyes shone like those of a traveler dying of thirst who had finally discovered clean water.

It was not entirely lust, but a lively and determined resolve to obtain what he needed.
