This person’s temper really was good. Frighteningly good.
If she had been shoved into mud like this, even if she didn’t explode, she would inevitably feel upset. Yet he showed no unhappiness at all—not even irritation.
Didn’t the internet say Yue Han had no status but loved acting like a diva?
Yue Han slowly wiped around his eyes. His movements were gentle and unhurried, cautious because he couldn’t open them. Even so, there was something soothing about the way he moved.
Once the area around his eyes was clean, he first tested opening them to a slit, then blinked. Only after confirming everything was fine did he fully open his eyes and wipe the remaining mud from his face.
Li Weiwu suddenly reacted. “Why haven’t you apologized yet? You pushed him into that state, and you let the pig escape too. Tell me, what can you actually do right?!”
Li Yihan already felt guilty. Her father’s scolding made blood rush to her face, her eyes sting, and tears spill out.
Yue Han looked at Li Weiwu. “Teacher Li, hitting children is wrong.”
He knew that from his position, he shouldn’t say too much.
“You can’t educate a child by hitting and scolding them. Children are living people too.” Yue Han’s voice was gentle, carrying a strange soothing quality, like a murmuring stream slipping into the heart. “She gets hurt too.”
Li Yihan’s tears finally broke free. She turned and ran rapidly down the slope. Li Weiwu shouted, “Where are you going now?!”
“I’m going to catch the pig!” Li Yihan shouted through tears.
“You stupid girl! Why are you worrying about catching pigs now?!” Li Weiwu stamped his feet in anger.
A variety show meant to let people experience the happy simplicity of farm life had somehow been turned into a family-conflict mediation program. It was almost absurd enough to make people laugh and cry.
The urgent task now was not only to find the pig, but to find Li Yihan.
Everyone split into several groups. The production team also sent out many staff members to expand the search. The following camera crews stayed close to the guests, afraid of missing a single detail.
Yue Han walked a long way with the cameraman before finally spotting a thin figure beside a small river.
Yue Han gestured for the cameraman to stay farther away. The cameraman understood and backed off.
The cameraman said, “I’ll look around nearby for the pig.”
Yue Han sat by the river and looked at the green water ahead.
“Being forced to do something is really painful, isn’t it?”
Li Yihan cried, her shoulders shaking. “I’m sick of him. I’m sick of them. I’m so sick of it! If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t even be in the entertainment industry!”
The repeated curses carried no real malice. They were only an outlet for grievance and frustration.
“Do you like acting?” Yue Han suddenly asked.
Li Yihan’s shoulders trembled. Yue Han sighed. “I used to think I would hate something if I was forced to do it. But when I received praise because of that thing, I realized I didn’t hate it at all. I even liked the honor it brought me.”
“So what about you? Do you like acting?” Yue Han tilted his head and asked softly.
After a period of silence, Li Yihan finally nodded hard. “I do!”
“Then act properly. You’re not doing it for your parents. You’re doing it for yourself.” Yue Han remembered Chen Zhao’s instructions and added, against his conscience, “You’re a very talented actress.”
“Have you watched any of my dramas?” Li Yihan suddenly became excited. “Which one?”
Yue Han’s expression stiffened, revealing the awkwardness of being exposed. Then he apologized sincerely. “Sorry. I haven’t seen any.”
Li Yihan burst out laughing, blowing a few snot bubbles. Horrified at the damage to her image, she quickly covered her nose and looked around for cameras. Yue Han thoughtfully handed her a wet wipe.
