Shao Siyan raised an eyebrow and deliberately applied more force. Satisfied, he watched Chi Junyan knit his brows in mingled pain and pleasure. His expression was deeply conflicted: he plainly resisted, yet his body had no choice but to welcome it.

“Your body doesn’t look as though it wants me to stop.”

His actions were passionate and intimate, but the words leaving his mouth were cold and hurtful.

This was not an affectionate union. It was desecration and play.

He tried to break free but found it impossible. By the time he realized what was happening, tears had already escaped against his will.

Seeing his eyes tightly shut and tears falling as he bit his lip, Shao Siyan’s heart softened. He freed one hand to wipe Chi Junyan’s face, and even his voice became much warmer. “Are you uncomfortable?”

Shao Siyan’s movements gentled, and his voice held a tenderness he did not recognize himself. “Don’t cry.”

After a while, Chi Junyan’s tears continued without any sign of lessening.

Shao Siyan became gentler still and sighed faintly. “You’re still crying.”

But he could not control it.

More than half of his mating heat had passed. Instinct had awakened every hormone in his body, and the medication’s suppression had collapsed. He was now fertile and sensitive enough for a single leaf blown from a tree to make him grieve.

He hated himself like this, yet he had no choice but to accept it.

He opened his eyes.

His irises, already lighter than most people’s, appeared extraordinarily clear after being washed by tears. Even Shao Siyan could not avoid being moved.

He bent down and kissed Chi Junyan’s eyelids. “They’re swollen from crying.”

The movement changed their angle. A hidden passage quietly opened, making both men shudder from head to toe.

Rare panic colored Chi Junyan’s eyes, and his mental tendrils abruptly constricted at that instant.

A buzzing filled Shao Siyan’s mind. It hurt slightly, yet the sensation was indescribably wondrous.

Everything before him seemed slowed down and magnified, every detail taking shape in his vision.

His five senses, already sharper than those of ordinary people, seemed to break through a threshold and become amplified to their utmost limit.

He looked strangely at the man beneath him. His gaze seemed to penetrate Chi Junyan’s body and reach his soul.

The sounds in his ears suddenly became far clearer. The supposedly quiet room contained so many layers of noise.

He even felt that he could hear the movement of air and the blood rushing rapidly through both their bodies.

Even their heartbeats gradually synchronized and became one.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

…

When Shao Siyan returned to himself from that mysterious state, Chi Junyan had already lost consciousness.
