The Xia Siqiao Confusion Awards Series

Xia Siqiao says he doesn't like the school heartthrob anymore. What new trick is this little menace playing now? And he's betting against Zhao Zhihuan too. Zhao may be the eternal second place, but he's still second place. Since when is Xia Siqiao qualified to slap him in the face?

Not going to lie, sisters, I'm a little sad right now. If Xia Siqiao transfers out, where am I supposed to find my daily entertainment? sad.jpg

4 He's probably started playing hard to get. Sigh. Between his face and that fight with Zhou Yan, I'd actually started thinking a little better of him. Why is he messing around again?

9 I can't understand where he found the courage to bet against top student Zhao. Could he secretly be pretending to be a bad student like in a novel? This is way too abnormal.

15 I agree. No matter how brainless Xia Siqiao is, he shouldn't publicly bet with top student Zhao that the loser has to transfer. Does he think he can just refuse if he loses? Aside from being stupid whenever He Pei is involved, he's usually a pretty normal person.

22 You people have almost convinced me. It isn't impossible that he's been pretending to be a bad student. Given his status in that family, if his grades were too good, wouldn't he get in someone else's way?

33 Every one of you is Sherlock Holmes now, and I actually almost believed your nonsense. Impossible. I must hold my position. He is a hopeless student.

Xia Siqiao had no idea that a group of people were already accepting every rumor they heard and had even thoughtfully invented reasons for him.

He sat in the innermost corner of the final examination room, looking coldly at Zhao Zhihuan, who had come specifically to mock him. His face showed impatience. "Open your mouth one more time and I'll forget about the bet and make sure you miss this exam altogether."

Zhao Zhihuan did not believe Xia Siqiao would dare hit him at school. He was just about to keep needling him when someone grabbed the back of his collar.

"Can you fucking shut that filthy mouth of yours? What are you doing here acting like an idiot? Tired of living?"

Zhou Yan wore a fierce expression. With his brows drawn down, he seized Zhao Zhihuan by the back of the collar with one hand, dragged him toward the door in long strides, and threw him directly outside the rear entrance.

Zhao Zhihuan had been yanked so hard he could barely breathe. He got up from the ground, clutching his chest, and coughed for a long time before he could speak. "Zhou Yan, you're helping him bully a beta? Have you forgotten how badly he beat you?"

Zhou Yan looked at Zhao Zhihuan as though watching a show. "I'm about to beat you too. You think a beta shouldn't get hit just because he's asking for it? I know how to accept a loss. If I can't beat someone, I admit defeat. I accept that he's stronger than me. I don't need you reminding me. Don't fucking try to use me as your weapon."

Zhao Zhihuan knew Zhou Yan genuinely might start a fight with him right there. He glared at him resentfully, then shot a venomous look at Xia Siqiao, who was sitting on a desk as though none of this concerned him, pushed up his glasses, and left.

Zhou Yan returned to the examination room, glanced at Xia Siqiao, and, with the roots of his ears red, awkwardly tossed out, "Do well on the exam," before fleeing back to his seat. He was too embarrassed to look back again.

This school bully was actually rather interesting.

Xia Siqiao smiled, propped up his head, and turned his gaze toward the sky outside the window.

Raindrops were still pattering noisily against the world, but the rain had finally begun to pour itself out. The dark clouds that had occupied the sky were much thinner now. Clear weather could not be far away.

The students of No. 3 High had never imagined waiting for grades could be so torturous. The anticipation made their hearts itch.

The grade director leisurely drank his tea. "You're all unusually concerned about your grades this time. That's a good thing. Keep it up. Go post the rankings. These results are definitely going to make your eyes pop out."

He casually waved the score sheet in one hand. The hearts of the student errand-runners rose and fell with the paper, wobbling like they were riding a roller coaster.

At last, they received the score sheet with both hands as though accepting an imperial decree. The moment they stepped outside, several of them immediately unfolded it to look.

"Holy shit." Several people stared wide-eyed and exclaimed at the same time.

"What?" Sitting in Class 5, Xia Siqiao frowned when he heard the results.

The monthly-exam results completely shattered the undercurrents that had been quietly stirring through No. 3 High. Every student who had been happily waiting for a joke was struck speechless by the enormous wave Xia Siqiao had stirred up.

The ranking sheet, printed against a red background, was plainly posted on the wall, silently enjoying the comical sight of everyone staring at one another without knowing what to say.
