He rubbed between his brows and realized he was sitting in the back seat of a car.

Beside him sat the husband he had married for an alliance—Shi Miming.

The very domineering CEO who, in the dream, would abandon him.

Although he and Shi Miming were only in a marriage of convenience with no feelings involved, their interests were bound together. Their marriage was hundreds of times more secure than an ordinary one.

Even if Shi Miming found true love elsewhere, surely he wouldn't be stupid enough to divorce him?

Besides, the Li family was still doing all right. How could being abandoned possibly leave him homeless?

Noticing that Li Que seemed uncomfortable, Shi Miming glanced at him and asked, "Are you all right?"

The shock of fighting over steamed buns in the dream was still too great. Li Que remained shaken.

He patted his chest, which felt as though his heart were attacking it from the inside, then turned to Shi Miming. "I want water."

Shi Miming casually picked up a plastic bottle of Evian mineral water and handed it to him.

Watching from the driver's seat, the chauffeur could already guess that Li Que would not drink it.

Even the chauffeur knew Li Que disliked the smell of plastic. If he drank bottled water, it had to come in glass.

Sure enough, Li Que frowned and did not take the water Shi Miming offered.

Shi Miming knew that too. He had only handed it over because Li Que looked desperate for a drink. Seeing him refuse it, he understood that Li Que wasn't truly thirsty. Shi Miming said, "The assistant is new. He probably got it wrong. We only have plastic bottles right now."

"I'm not drinking it," Li Que said flatly. "Stop and buy some."

"Where are we supposed to buy any on this road?" Shi Miming explained. "And we're only a few minutes from the banquet venue. How about you drink when we arrive?"
