[Contact with target character again! Hatching energy 96.8%, unable to unlock the beginner primary task "Hatching." Countdown 00:00:27. Please keep trying, player!]
[Only 27 seconds left? Damn it, would it kill this guy to touch it a few more times?!]
[The fish is so cute, and he's not even moved at all??]
If Li Yuan could see inside the eggshell at this moment, he would find an exceptionally beautiful little mermaid eagerly pressed against the shell wall.
The little creature's snow-white fish tail swayed in disbelief, so aggrieved that it wished it could stick the entire egg into Li Yuan's palm.
Pei Nian had applied for an internship at the aquarium near his neighborhood during summer vacation. He never expected that while doing a closing inspection, he would fall into the water trying to save a stranded fish, and when he woke up, he had mysteriously bound to something called the Mermaid Baby Raising APP.
Before he could even accept the fact that he had become a mermaid, the beginner task—"Hatching"—was instantly activated.
[You have the universe's one and only snow-white fish tail. Your existence will illuminate every dark corner of the world. However, despite being blessed with all of heaven's favor, you have become a congenitally deficient mermaid egg for unknown reasons.]
[Please quickly collect hatching energy, or you will enter BE 001 "Dead Egg." Game death equals real death.]
[Countdown 00:01:00, reward 100 points, task difficulty F!]
Game death equals real death was extremely cruel, but as an F-difficulty beginner task, according to the system's introduction, this should have been a giveaway.
So at the banquet, Pei Nian was very smoothly assigned to Li Yuan, who was acting as the older brother, and watched the energy value skyrocket.
Unexpectedly, the moment they returned to the room, the energy value was stuck at exactly 95%. The guy who had been holding Pei Nian just moments ago had directly tossed the mermaid egg into the corner…
And after tossing it into the corner, he didn't go play games or entertain himself—he turned around and went to study mecha training!
